Trends I Love and Hate – Summer 2013

Summer 2013 Trends

Browsing through fashion websites this morning, I just can’t resist sharing the trends I love and hate with you.  Some of them may be more like long term nightmares than trends, so forgive me of that. Let’s get started with the trends I hate! Handkerchief tops – I’m sure there are some ladies out there than get a big fashion boost from these, but the shape draws attention to all the wring places on my triangle (or pear) shape.  Those long side tails make my already ample hips look all the wider while ridding up on my full bottom and lower tummy. Too lightweight clingy fabrics – Don’t get me wrong, I love curve conscious designs, I however do not love them in fabrics that are so lightweight and clingy that they show off every lump and bump and cling in all the wring places.  These tend to be cotton or rayon and spandex blends. I don’t want to have to wear a full body shaper under summer outfits! Designers need to give a little more thought to how fabric lays on a plus size woman’s body.
