4 Fabulous Flats for Wide Feet

Payless Women's Claire Scrunch Flat by dexflex Comfort

As a plus size woman, finding really cute flats for wide feet can be a serious challenge so I had to share my favorite finds from Payless Shoes – the Claire, Chaire, Caroline, and Blaire Scrunch Flats from the dexFlex Comfort line. While the names vary, they are all basically the same base shoe with varying decoration, fabrics, and colors. The really great thing about these flats is their elasticized top edge design and flexible sole. Read More »

Guide to Plus Size Brands on Zulily.com

A Guide to Zulily.com Plus Size Brands

Successful online shopping requires you have a good feel for how each designer’s or brand’s line fits. I’m sure everyone is all too familiar with the fact that sizes don’t run the same from designer to designer or brand to brand.  The bigger challenge in sizing lies in size charts with inaccurate measurements.  I order very frequently from Zulily.com since they offer access to lots of styles that aren’t available locally and I like having a look that isn’t like everyone else I see around town. Sometimes though, opening a package is anything but delightful – like yesterday when I pulled out this dress below: You can clearly see the blue dress by SHE runs shockingly smaller than the one by GLAM behind it and both are a size 22. Now I’ll grant you that it’s gathered and the one behind it isn’t. When I stretch the blue dress to it’s maximum, it measures 44 inches compared to the 50 inches of the print dress. A six inch difference is pretty major! I was really bummed since I really love the fabric of the dress and the sleeves are generously cut. This isn’t the first time I’ve run across this, ... ASOS Plus Size Body Conscious Dresses Equal Body Confidence

Plus Size Body Conscious Dresses from ASOS

Rocking a body conscious dress for the first time in several years on a recent trip to Vegas made me feel amazing. Not just because my husband thought I looked fabulous, but because it truly made me feel confident in my curves. I searched through a number of popular women’s plus size retailers and designer’s collections, including Kiyonna, Monif C., and ASOS, to find the perfect look for me once we had booked our getaway. I really love a great print since it tends to draw attention to your overall shape instead of drawing attention to particular areas I’d rather not accentuate. Ultimately, I selected two from ASOS’s Curve and Plus line and was absolutely delighted with them upon arrival.  ASOS seems to have a great understanding of the shapes, designs, and materials that really make a body conscious dress work well on plus size women.   My first pick was the ASOS CURVE Exclusive Body-Conscious Dress In City Print – Multi / US 22 . It is as fabulous in person as online. Much to my surprise, the fit was very generous and required a little altering to get just the right fit for me, so if you’re on the larger side of their sizing, you should ... Read More »
